An ode to Pie

So. Right now, I am in Oregon, sitting at my friend Stooph's computer, while a marionberry, blueberry, and blackberry lattice-top pie is baking in their oven. And I just had to do a quick ode to pie.

Pie was actually invented in ancient Greece, just like democracy! And, like democracy, pie is a worthwhile pursuit. It used to be the food of the masses, as the crust served as a protection for whatever was being baked inside.

I have seen and heard of many varieties of pie, but never in my life have I seen a pie go so wrong it was inedible. I say this to prove that the simplicity of pie is, after all, one of the things that makes in wonderful.

On a cold night, on a hot day, to celebrate, to mourn, or just because, pie is the way to go.

So as this delectable yumminess warms up and turns into gooey golden wonderfulness, just remember....

It's as easy as pie.
